Margie loved her Catholic Faith, was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters, and was a choir member at Our Lady Star of the Sea. She was a good natured lady with a quick wit and a friendly outlook on all she met. Margie enjoyed her pastime of playing card games but especially Pokeno with her family and friends. Her family meant the world to her and she leaves a lifetime of memories and stories for them, as well as to so many others.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Nunez; her husband and love of her life, Donald Kelley; two sons, Toby and Jerry Kelley and grandson, Beau Styron.
Those mourning her loss are her children, Barry (Gwen) and Peggy Kelley (Robert); brother, Gerald Nunez (Charlyne) and grandchildren, Luke (Ashley) Styron, Chance (Ivy) Styron, Magen Roberts, Heath (Kylie) Kelley, Jillian Kelley and Chris Sadowski and Great Grandchildren Gwenyth, Bennet, Lyra, Aydon, Stella, Iris, Jude, Penelope and Finn.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home with a Rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Lake Charles, with Rev. Ruben Buller officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Creole with Rev. Jerish George officiating.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to our Mom’s Caregiver, Jennifer Nicole Kershaw, who Mom loved dearly.
