Kermit “John” Lejeune, Sr. of Iowa, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 22 at the age of 80. He was born on April 6, 1944 in Jennings, Louisiana to Ruby and Alvis LeJeune. After Alvis passed, Ruby married Jasper Fontenot, who became a wonderful dad to John.
John served his country in the United States Navy. He also worked as a Welder/Crane Operator in his early days. Eventually, he went on to oversee the operations of the family business, Angelo’s Fireworks, with his wife.
John loved hunting and fishing. He loved to go shrimping and do anything that involved the outdoors. He also enjoyed cooking and traveling, but most importantly, John loved his family.
John is survived by his wife, Connie Angelo Lejeune; brothers David Lejeune, Randy Lejeune, Tommy Fontenot, Jimmy Fontenot, and Mike Fontenot; sister Carolyn Fontenot; sons Kermit John Lejeune, Jr. (Natalie), and Terrance Angelo (Kristen); daughters Angelina Fagan Shadoin (Robbie), and Melissa Ellis Northcutt; grandchildren Joseph Angelo, also known as Noonbug, (Jordan), Christopher Lejeune, Sr., Noah Vezinat, Roman Angelo, Annison Shadoin, Ashlyn Lejeune, Alexis Lejeune, and Savean Lejeune; great-grandchildren Christopher Lejeune, Jr., Averie Angelo, Avah Angelo, and Violet Lejeune.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Missy Chiasson, Jewel Trapp and the staff at Stonebridge Place for the continued compassion and care for John.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Hixson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Friday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 continuing until the Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m.
