John A. Young

He was born in Creole on July 5, 1946, to Wilton and Annie Primeaux Young. John was a lifelong resident of Grandlake. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sweetlake. John was a heavy duty truck mechanic. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. John enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, raising rabbits and barbequing with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Gaspard Young; daughters, Kristy Manuel and husband, Shane, Cindy Silfee and husband, Troy and Jonette Benoit and husband, Kevin all of Grand Lake; brother, Buck Young; sisters, Shirley Nunez and Cathy Trahan; grandchildren, Andrew, Mark, Taylor, Travis, Devon, Alissa, Jayleigh and Tanner; niece, Cari; great niece, Megan; and family friend, Victoria. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lindsey Benoit; parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 11am-9pm with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will resume at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sweetlake on Wednesday from 9am until service time at 12 noon. Burial will be in Sweetlake/Grandlake Cemetery.
