Freda L. Thomas

Freda attended Elementary and Junior High at Central School. She went to Lake Charles High School, was a Kiltie for four years and was drum colonel in her senior year. She graduated in 1951 and went on to McNeese where she graduated with a BS in Elementary education in 1955. Freda married, and had two children. She chose to stay home and raise her children instead of teaching school, a decision she never regretted. She attended First Baptist Church, and taught in the children's division for over fifty years. She loved the Lord and is now in heaven with a new body and not in pain. She was a wonderful cook and early in her adult life loved to sew, especially making clothes for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Kathryn Pertuit; Nephews Charles and David Pertuit.

She is survived by her daughter, Teri McCain; son, Greg Thomas; four grandchildren, Amanda Parrett and husband, Fabian, Jessica McCain and fiancé Brandon Chavanne, Heidi Montiville and husband Dalton, Katie Gregg and husband Brandon; great-grandchildren, Tatum and Leighton Parrett, Drake and Harper Chavanne, Kaden Howard, Colton Gregg and Mila Gregg due February 2021; niece, Gail Bartlett of Hernando, Miss. and son in-law Mark McCain of Moss Bluff. She loved her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. " She will be greatly missed".

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, Chapel of the Lillie's on October 26, 2020 from the hours of 4pm - 7pm and will resume the following day at 8am. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10am.
