It is with heavy hearts filled with tears that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Edward Frank Webb, Sr., on Friday, June 25, 2021 with his family by his side at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles, LA. Frank was born in Macclesfield, NC on September 28, 1933, the only child of Edward Gold Webb and Katherine Walston Webb. He was always a country boy at heart growing up farming in the tobacco fields of Carolina. His family loved hearing him regale them with stories from his childhood. He had a friendly and outgoing personality and was known for being able to talk to anyone at anytime about anything.
Frank graduated from South Edgecombe High School in 1952. His service in the United States Air Force brought him to Lake Charles where he met and married the love of his life Billie Boudreaux and resided for the next 68 years. He served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of W. B. Williamson Post 1 of the American Legion. He retired from Texaco as a Marketing Representative after 32 years. Since he always had to stay busy, after his official retirement, he continued to work as a self-employed contractor for Southwest Research until he was 85. He loved traveling the backroads of Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi collecting gas samples and enjoying the countryside while driving hundreds of miles per day.
He cherished his family and always enjoyed cooking traditional North Carolina family favorites for everyone. He was a permanent fixture at his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting and social events, always there to cheer them on and support them. He was a kind and generous man who gave of his time unselfishly whenever someone needed a helping hand or words of wisdom. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years, Billie, and all of his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws from the Boudreaux family. They are all waiting with open arms to welcome him home.
He leaves to cherish his memory and carry in their hearts his son, Edward Frank Webb, Jr. and wife Peggy of Moss Bluff, LA; daughter, Wendy Webb Foreman and husband David of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Matthew Webb (Holly), Jonathan Webb (Kelly), Brittany Foreman (George), Zach Foreman; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Ava, Grant, and Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews to whom he was fondly known as Uncle Samboe.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Harbor Hospice for the compassionate care given to our father enabling him to peacefully leave this life to enter into his new heavenly home. He was provided comfort and shown respect, as was his entire family in his final days.
Friends are invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:30pm with the Rosary being celebrated at 2:00pm. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA or St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff, LA in memory of their father, Edward Frank Webb, Sr.
