He was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He is survived by his sons Edward J. Romero Jr., and wife Sandra of Vidor, Texas; John Romero and wife Alice, of Lake Charles; stepson L.J. Wimberly and wife Malinda of Moss Bluff; daughters Renetta Rozas and Terrie Romero of Lake Charles; sister Dorothy Fontenot and husband Joe of Moss Bluff; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nedia and Alice Romero, his first wife Barbara Romero Wimberly; brother Henry Romero Sr., and sister Sis Vincent.
Funeral service will be at 1.00pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Gerald Lambright will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2012, 11:00am – 9.00pm, with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:15pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday, 8:00am until service time. Interment will follow at Frey Cemetery in Mowata, La.
