I am just reading this about Clara now.  My husband (Gary Williams) and I had a camp at Big Lake and have so many wonderful memories of the times we shared with Clara and Lee - the wonderful meals and the great time visiting.  It was definitely a time to be remembered.  After we sold our camp, we drifted apart but I thought of her often.  She was always the life of the party.  I am sure she is smiling down from heaven on all of you now.

To Peggy and Keith and all the family...I don't have to tell you how sorry I am because I'm sure you both know what you mean to me and what Clara ment to my family.  Dad really looked at her as a sister.  Just tonight Uncle Willie told me that when your Grandma and Grandpa were young and the kids were little they moved to Welch to work on my Grandpa's farm until he had to let it go during the depression.  They all worked together, lived together and loved each other like family did in those days.  When your mom and dad moved to Lake Charles they lived with Mom and Dad and when they built their new home, they lived at the train in the back until it was finished.  Uncle Vorries was Dad's Godfather and I still have the vase he gave Mom and Dad for their wedding.  I will never forget the trips to Hackberry to go crabing. I will never forget the sleep overs at each others house and I will never forget the double dates in highschool.  I love you both very much and just knowing that I can't be there breaks my heart.  I remember your dad taking pictures of us with his fancy camera, some of my earliest baby pictures were by TC.  I will never forget the cute little ruffle dresses Mom and Clara would sew for us ever year before school would start.  Who could wear the most petticoats, Peggy, Ginny Gunn, Milly or me?  Ha! I will never forget you serving in my wedding Peggy and Keith I know you will never forget who fixed you up with Jeanie. Of all the good things I remember and memories I have of your mother there is one that all these years I have never forgotten and till this day I laugh about.  It was the red toilet paper she would put out at Christmas time.  You guys had the prettiest Christmas trees and we always had some sticks from the pasture decorated as our tree.  I always thought it was like a magic wonderland at your house for the holidays, but the red toilet paper always came to mind. LOL.  Your mom was a good person and was always ready to tell a joke and always there to help Mom when she needed.  She would drive out to visit Mom often in the country.  Mom didn't have a car and your mom was always available to help her out.  
I hope you both can remember all the good times and appreciate the many years you had with her.  I'd have given anything to have my Mom as many years.  It's been 27 years and I still cry like a baby when I', missing her.  
God Bless you both and please know my deepest sorrow and also my fondest memories will be with you both at this time.  I love you and will keep you and Clara Belle in my prayers at Mass here in Lafayette on Friday morning.

Peggy, I am so glad mom and I got to visit with you and Ms. Clara.  I hadn't seen her in over 25yrs. and she hadn't changed one bit.  Still the same MS. Clara I knew back then.  Her spunky character will be remembered by everyone who knew her.  A great lady is what she was and I will always remember her for that.  Love and prayers from me and mom. XOXO
