Carroll Parsons

Carroll Boyette Parsons was born on February 5, 1948, in Elizabeth, Louisiana and passed away surrounded by her loving family and dedicated friends in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Sunday October 6, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernie Parsons; son, William Parsons; daughters, Laura Parsons (Clif Montgomery) and Bonnie Brawner (Eddie).

She is also survived by grandchildren Sarah Parsons Head (John), Mason Lefrance and Samantha Brawner, and one great grandchild, Charlotte Head.

She also leaves behind her sisters, Dempsey Gueringer, Dixie Boyette and Lena Marshall (Rush), brothers John Boyette (Linda) and Roger Boyette (Kay), sister and brother-in-law Susan and Steve LeDoux, countless nieces and nephews, and her dear friend of 52 years Sue Way.

Waiting to welcome her home were her parents, Roger and Maxie Boyette, in laws Frank and Ruth Parsons, and her dear friend Jim Way.

She retired as Principal of St. John Elementary School in 2006 and was instrumental in the construction of a new school for St. John Elementary in Lake Charles. She was awarded National Assistant Principal of the Year while she was an assistant principal at Maplewood Middle School. She was a dedicated and excellent administrator, and will be sorely missed by numerous friends, colleagues, and countless past students. Her impact on all who encountered her throughout her time in the school system is endless.

Carroll was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles and attending her Sunday school class with so many great friends was the highlight of her week. Her family is at peace because of her faith that Jesus Christ was her Savior, and they were touched by a recent text message to her that read, “You may be the only Bible some people may read.”

Carroll loved cooking, hosting people at her beautiful home in Big Lake, and spending time with her loving family and friends. In lieu of a service, a “Celebration of Life” will be scheduled at a later date.
