Barbara Ann Burleigh

She was born February 28, 1935 in Church Point, LA to Berchman and Ella Blanchard Duplechin. She married James Burleigh. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Dennis Burleigh; one grandchild; and two brothers, Charles and James Duplechin.

Surviving is her husband James of Lake Charles; six daughters, Kelly Buller and husband Mike, Cathy McFatter and husband Patrick, Wendy Lewis and husband Mike, Barbara “Bobbie” DuBrock, Mary Ann Burleigh and Erika Murray and husband Ron; brother, Michael Duplechin and wife Janice; four sisters, Bonnie Williams and husband Ron, Patricia Bourgeois and husband Albert, Jackie Gile and Diane Overby; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a CCD teacher and was a choir member at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. She was a tax preparer for H&R Block and a polling commissioner. Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, quilting, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm with a rosary at 6:30pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 9:00 am until time of service. A funeral will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate.
