Marion Randolph Rankin Jr.

Randy was loved for his sense of humor, dedication to family and diligent hard work. Randy was a professional Civil Engineer, Land Surveyor and Real Estate Broker. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1970 from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. He began his career as a Co-Op student in Design Branch of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and was ultimately selected Chief, North Section in Regulatory Branch prior to his departure in 1977. Randy left to establish consulting engineering and surveying companies, Rankin Surveying and Engineering, Inc. and Rankin Associates, Inc. He also established Rankin Real Estate in partnership with his father. He briefly returned to USACE as Engineering Division Project Manager for In-house and AE designs from 1983-1985. Following this he worked for Randy Schurick Construction and ultimately retired from PRIMAX Compozit Home Systems in Louisville, Kentucky.

Left to cherish the memory of Randy are his Children; Michelle Cardwell (Jason) and Marion Randolph “Tray” Rankin III (Angelia Inscoe), Grandchildren; Camden Cardwell, Cole Cardwell, Carli Cardwell, Trenton Rankin, Clayton Rankin, and Macey Rankin, Sister; Carole Lee Rankin, and Niece; Jacqueline Howard. He is predeceased by his father, Marion Randolph Rankin Sr. and his mother, Dorris Abbott Rankin.

Family visitation will be held December 2, 2023 from 12:30-2:00 pm with Service to follow at 2:00 pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange, Kentucky. Randy was baptized and a former member of LaGrange Christian Church.
