Daniel William Cox Sr.

He was born on December 12, 1952 to Raymond Luther and Vera June Blair Cox in LaGrange, KY.

Danny was an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police, President of the Oldham County Fair Board, and served as a Lieutenant for the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. Danny was a Christian who enjoyed spending time with his family, sheriff family and his grandkids. Danny loved spending summers on his front porch, their families annual Fourth of July parties, and The Kentucky Derby, but more than anything he loved his wife of 37 years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife; Sherry Kay Cox and a sister, Sylvia Husband (Garnett).

Left to cherish the memory of Danny are his children; Christy Bryant (Ken), Melissa Drexler (Robert) and Daniel Cox Jr. (Amanda), grandchildren; Casey Hayman (Brandon), Sean Bryant, Claire Norris (Jacob), Christian Bryant, Kennedy Bryant, Kavan Cox, Hayden Drexler, Tommy Drexler, Olivia Cox, Charlie Sekeres and Jackson Sekeres, great-grandchildren; Elijah Hayman, Everly Hayman and Emery Hayman, siblings; Joyce Lett (Mike), Ray Cox (Amanda), Jim Cox (Kim), and Jeff Cox; many other extended family and friends.

A celebration of Life for Danny will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 11am at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park on Bardstown Road in Louisville. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4-8pm and Tuesday morning from 9am until the start of the service.
