Mr. Morris was born June 14, 1925 in Roanoke, AL to the late James Homer Morris and Bessie Howard Still Morris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margarete Meta Zubert Morris.
He is survived by his nieces, Teresa Morris Cavanagh and Glenda Morris Orlich; nephew, Randall (Lissa) W Morris; sister-in-law, Mavis Reaves Morris and his special angels, Erlene Pressley, Peggy Traylor and Patsy Manning along with several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Morris was a 30 year Army veteran and retiree. He faithfully served his country in WWII, the Korean War as well as doing 3 tours in the Vietnam War. He was highly decorated and received many commendations and awards in his military career including a position with the Central Intelligence Agency. He retired from active service in 1975 as a Sergeant Major; the highest ranking NCO in the Army. He was a faithful soldier who loved his country, his wife, his family and friends. He later became a member of Baptist Tabernacle where he loved attending.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
