Warren Guy Preston Guy

Mr. Guy was born in Tallassee, AL on June 27, 1924, son of Hillery Jackson and Minnie Maybelle Brand Guy. He owned several trucks and worked in the transportation industry as a truck driver for over 50 years. In addition he operated 29 Highway Service Station on the Hogansville Road. He was a proud veteran of World War II where he served in General Patton's Third Army and fought bravely at The Battle of the Bulge. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, member of Long Cane Lodge #424 and was recently presented his 50 Year Apron. He was Baptist by faith and attended Teaver Road Baptist Church before moving to the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Judy Guy Baker of LaGrange, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy & (Diane) Guy of Five Points, AL and Mr. & Mrs. (Joe) & Joan Rizzo of Douglasville, GA; his grandchildren, Mr. & Mrs. (Lance) & Kristy Morris, Mr. & Mrs. James & (Tory) Baker II, Mr. & Mrs. (Craig) & Samantha Gibson, Ashley Rizzo, Michael Rizzo, and Jenna Rizzo; great grandchildren, Hayley Morris, Guy Morris, Reed Morris, Juliana Baker. He is survived by a brother, Joe Guy of Newnan GA.

Mr. Guy was preceded in death by his wife & sweetheart of 58 years, Brooksie Sears Guy and two infant sons, Jesse Wayne and Warren Preston Guy.

The gathering of friends will be Monday, April 6th from 6-8 pm and Tuesday, April 7th from 1-2 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00 pm with Dr. Paul Baxter and Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, with Military Funeral Honors and Masonic Rites ceremonies.
