Roy C. McGowan

Mr. McGowan was born on May 18, 1937, in Troup County, Georgia, the son of the late Harvey McGowan and Clara Matheny McGowan. He was employed with Dunson Mill West Point Stevens for a number of years. Mr. McGowan was a member of Baptist Tabernacle in LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel McGowan; two daughters, Marsha (Lane) Jones, and Sharon (Toby) Turner; two sons, Danny McGowan, and Timothy (Ashley) McGowan; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Mac McGowan of Macon; numerous nieces and nephews.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Baptist Tabernacle. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Reverend Jimmy McMillian and Reverend Bobby Bozeman officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
