Mr. Grizzard was born May 3, 1952 in LaGrange, GA, son of the late Franklin D. “Bud” Grizzard and Faye Hall Grizzard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Billy Joe Driver and a sister-in-law, Vickie Grizzard.
Mr. Grizzard was a member of Teaver Road Baptist Church and was employed with the City of LaGrange, superintendent of the Street Department, before retiring after 37 years of service. Mr. Grizzard served on the Board of the Troup County Sportman Club where he also served as Chaplain. He also served as a member of the American Public Work Association, Board member of the Georgia Public Works before retiring, and the Troup County Water Board. Mr. Grizzard was an avid fan of Nascar and loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carol Grizzard; daughters and sons-in-law, Kippi and Chad Gaddy and Jodi and Wayne Parmer; grandchildren, Skylar Herren (Brandon Turner), Tyler Herren (Cassie Carpenter), Morgan and Kaine Lyons, and Mitch and Kaley Parmer; great grandchildren, Jackson Turner, KaLeigha Hunter, Blaze Hunter, Oaklyn Parmer, and Barrett Parmer – arriving in June; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Phyllis Grizzard, William and Lara Grizzard, Willis and Tracie Grizzard, Curran Grizzard, Shane and Tara Grizzard, Ann Driver, and Jane Ann Reaves.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 20, 2022 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA with Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial services will follow the service. The gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
