Keith is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Anderson.
Keith H. Anderson passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at WellStar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia from pneumonia and complications.
Keith was born in Geneva, Illinois, December 5, 1930, the son of Harold and Violet Anderson. After high school graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served 3 ½ years. Interested in aviation, he graduated from Northrup Aeronautical Institute and also attended Mt. San Antonio College. His careers included Western Airlines and 15 years at Aerojet General Corporation, working in assembly and testing in the satellite programs. He owned a small engineering company, working as a machinist and electrician, before retiring from 15 years at Southern California Edison.
He had a keen interest in community service, and in Laverne, CA, he served as President of the Jaycees and of the Laverne Planning Commission. After moving to Apple Valley, CA, he was an active member of Church of the Valley for many years, serving in several leadership roles.
Keith was an avid reader. Other hobbies included riding and racing motorcycles through the California and Nevada deserts, mountains and everywhere in between. Keith was a golfer and he and his wife, Marilyn, enjoyed many RV golf trips in their Arctic Fox, in addition to cross country trips to visit families. They also enjoyed trips out of the country to New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland and Canada.
Keith is survived by his wife, Marilyn Anderson, son Kurt Anderson, daughters, Susan Anderson and Joy Anderson, step-son, Jim Rensenhouse (Donna) and step-daughters Julie Jacobs (Mark) and Alison Whisenant (Chris). Other survivors include a grandson, A.J. Anderson and granddaughters Shannon Edwards (Ryan), and Katie Mitchell (Rob); and step-grandchildren, James Rensenhouse (Abigail), Joanna Garcia (Jess), Rebecca Sanders (Dylan), Samuel Rensenhouse (Chloe), and Aaron Rensenhouse and Jack Rensenhouse, Joshua, Joseph, and Lena Jacobs, and Avery and Kyle Whisenant. Survivors also include great grandchildren, Ava and Brynn Edwards, Lilly, Charlotte and Whitney Mitchell and step-great granddaughters, Raylee and Sophia Sanders, Rowan Rensenhouse and Elspeth Rensenhouse, and brother, Gerald Anderson, and nephews Jim And Eric Anderson.
A private service for family and close friends is Saturday, October 2, at 11:00 A.M. at Striffler-Hamby Morturary, 1010 Mooty Bridge RD, LaGrange, GA, with Dylan Sanders officiating. The Funeral Home will be live streaming the service on their Facebook page, Striffler-Hamby Mortuary-LaGrange.
