Joe Henry Livingston Jr.

Mr. Livingston was born July 31, 1927 in Hurtsboro, AL, son of the late Joe Henry Livingston, Sr. and Mary Georgia Sivell Livingston. He was educated in the LaGrange School System and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After completing his military service, he attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA. After college, he returned to LaGrange to work with his father at Livingston Service Station and Wholesaler. Joe was a man who enjoyed his work and loved his customers and neighbors. He was a member of Oakside Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Pattilo, and brothers, Lawrence and Ralph Livingston, son, Joe Livingston III, and grandson, Brandon David Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ethel Ann Pierce Livingston; 2 daughters, Ann (Wynn) Thompson of Macon, GA and Kathy (David) Smith of Albany, GA; son, David Livingston of Cartersville, GA; daughter-in-law, Candy P. Livingston of Canton, GA; two brothers, Mel Livingston of Appalachicola, FL and Ken Livingston of LaGrange; sister, Leown Newman of LaGrange; twin sister, Joyce McKowen of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, that loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Oakside Baptist Church with Reverend David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The gathering of family and friends will be Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
