In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her and siblings; Mary Allen Hunter, Elizabeth Allen Whitworth, Virginia Allen Thrailkill, Horace Allen Jr, and Paul Allen, Husband-Buron P. Moore Jr, daughter Heartha Moore Beedy, one grandchild-Christopher Moore.
Mrs. Moore graduated From Rosemont High School at age 16 and graduated college at Draughon School of Commerce at age 18. After her marriage, she worked with her husband Buron P. Moore Jr. on the Moore family dairy farm until employment with Callaway Mills totaling 36 years. She worked her way up to become Fuller E. Callaway’s personal secretary until Callaway sold to Milliken Mills.
Her hobbies included crocheting, china painting, ceramics, writing poetry and church drama programs. Some of her poetry has been published in the United States and in London, England. She had a deep desire to research her family origins and spent many years doing so. This sparked her to make a compiled family history book of her own to share with her loved ones. In addition, she was involved in the publication of “Once Upon a Time: A History of Emory Chapel Community, Chambers County, Alabama 1832-1976” published in 1976 by David Hall. This book includes the names and history of her ancestors and family members. At 95 years old she gathered the poetry written throughout her lifetime to make a book entitled “Reminiscing is to Remember, and to Remember is to Recall”. She had 90 copies of this unpublished paperback book with pictures printed to share with relatives, friends, and others. After completion of her book she began writing short stories of some of her fondest memories to share in book form, unfortunately it was never completed.
