Vincent was truly a pillar of the community and known by almost all residents of the area, from the children who got their haircut by him well into their adulthoods, as well as the many Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, and other business people in the area, including one very well known local NFL Football Coach.
Vincent loved his Italian heritage and was proud of his Sicilian roots, having grown up in San Diego’s Little Italy, first as a paperboy, then fisherman, and many other jobs where he learned the value of hard work, and then went on to become a successful barber, despite having to end his school career early.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, as well as 3 daughters, two sons-in-law, 4 grandchildren, and brother Salvatore Zizzo.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20th at 10:00 am at Santa Sophia Catholic Church in Casa De Oro, followed by a burial ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery.
