Terry Kyle Stewart was born in Chula Vista, CA on February 2nd, 1936 and died on December 5th, 2024. As a child, he was active in the school band where he played the trombone, he played football and was also an Eagle Scout. After graduating from Chula Vista High School in 1954, Terry attended New Mexico A & M in Las Cruses for a year, returning home to take a job at Rohr Industries in 1958.
In 1959 he was drafted into the United States Army, and did his two years in Fort Benning, Georgia. Before he left for Georgia, he married Jacqueline, who was his wife of 58years.
When he completed his active duty in the Army, he returned to Chula Vista with his wife, to resume working at Rohr Industries. Eventually, he moved up in the company and retired as a Manufacturing Engineer.
In 1971, Terry was initiated into Chula Vista Lodge #626 and he became Worshipful Master in 1980. He was a Shriner, a Member of the Scottish Rite, and a Member of Eastern Star and assisted with Job’s Daughters Bethel #146. As a Shriner he drove children to Los Angeles for surgeries and represented the lodge in multiple Masonic Citizenship Award Ceremonies at the Chula Vista Elementary School District. Even as a Past Master, he served the Lodge as the Secretary from 2009-2018, he received the Hiram Award and was recognized for his 50 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Kinney of Chula Vista and Paul Stewart of Bonita as well as his grandchildren, Kyle Araiza, Derek Harrington, Grace Kinney and Jaxon Stewart.
Masonic Funeral Rites for Terry will be held 1 pm Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Masonic Lodge #626, 732 Third Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91910.
