Ricardo Hernandez

Ricardo was born on May 11, 1964 and grew up with a passion for hard work, family and the simple joys of life. He was a skilled welder, known for his precision and dedication to his craft. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took great pride in every project.

Outside of work, Ricardo had a true love for outdoor grilling, and his BBQ's were stuff of legend. His grill was a place where friends and family came together, sharing stories and laughter.

Ricardo was also a passionate supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game and always ready to cheer them on with the same fervor he applied to everything he loved. He spent countless hours with his family watching games, creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren, always eager to share his love for the team and the game of football.

Above all, Ricardo cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Dora. Together, they built a life full of love, respect, and laughter. Ricardo was a proud father to his children and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren. His home was always open, his heart always full of warmth and generosity. He was the rock of his family, always there to lend a hand or offer a word of wisdom, and his love for his family knew no bounds.

Ricardo is survived by his wife, Dora Hernandez; his sons Santiago Gallegos; Gabriel Sosa; Armando Sosa; Ricardo Hernandez Jr.; and his daughter Crystal Hernandez; his grandchildren James Gallegos, Marcus Gallegos, Angeline Sosa, Ayden Sosa and Alayna Sosa.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his brother Fernando Hernandez; his grandmother Celia Hernandez, and his grandfather Andres Hernandez.

Ricardo is also survived by his brothers, sisters, uncles, nieces, nephews.

In honor of Ricardo, we ask friends and family to wear their Cowboys gear or Cowboys colors during the services.

A visitation for Ricardo will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559. A chapel service will occur Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.with a burial to follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, 26873 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX 78559.

Ricardo may no longer be with us, but his spirit, laughter, and the lessons he imparted will continue to guide us all. Rest in peace, Ricardo. You will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
