MARIO ALBERTO FLORES, SR. SANTA ROSA – Our beloved father, Mario Alberto Flores Sr., 73, from Santa Rosa, Texas, entered into the Lord’s kingdom on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born to Jose Maria Flores and Maria Isabel Flores, on August 9, 1950, in La Feria, Texas.
Our father was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. who served his country proudly. Semper Fi was his Marine motto. He was a hard-working family man and always spent time with his kids. After many years truck driving, he decided to retire and just enjoy life. Pops was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and always showed his spirit with his jersey or hat. He leaves us with many fond memories. Pops always took us fishing on the weekends or to the many beaches in Corpus Christi. He was funny, always kidding around, but he was also straight with us all, always honest. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and his best was being a grandfather. He will be immensely missed.
Mario is survived by his children, sons Mario Alberto Flores, Jr., Steven Andrew Flores; daughters Veronica Flores Diaz, April Denise Flores and Julissa Yvette Hernandez. His beloved grandchildren Joseph Ray Flores, Aaliyah Michelle Flores, Amilyah Janelle Flores, Aaron Matthew Flores, Isaly Celeste Castillo and Sophia Lilly Castillo. Brothers, Juan, Enrique, Jose, Jr., Noe, Efrain and sisters, Elvia, Lupita, and Carmen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Maria Flores, his beloved mother, Maria Isabel Flores; siblings, Daniel and Maria Cristina and his grandson, Daniel Hunter Diaz.
Our father’s final wish was to be cremated. Our family will have a private service at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Military honors will be at 6:45 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m.
