Juan Pablo Briones

Juan Pablo Briones met his Savior on August 28, 2021@ Harlingen Medical Center. He was born to Tomasita and Erasmo Briones Sr. on January 1, 1934 in Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He came to the United States when he was 8 years old.

Juan was the most humble, gentle, humorous, uncle who was also the best storyteller. His favorite time was spent with his nieces & nephews saying jokes and making them laugh. The saying 'I'd rather be fishing/hunting describes Juan well. He would never get angry unless the cats ate his fish. He never criticized anyone. He had nicknames for all his nieces & nephews. As a young man Juan would work &

give his money to his mother or sister to assist in raising 5 nieces & nephews. He was happy to do this.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life; daughter Nelda C Briones Lopez +(Alex), his parents, brothers: Juan Briones +, Pete Briones+, Vicente Briones+ (Leonor), sisters: Elvira (Vera) B Smith+, Maria Esther Briones+, Maria Ignacia Ovalle+ (Lorenzo Sr), Francisca Gonzalez+ (Alfredo) and nieces and nephews: Dr. Maria Alicia Ovalle+, Normita Ovalle+ (Yolanda), Olga Briones+, Freddie Gonzales+ and Dr. Beau Briones+.

Left to cherish his life and memories are his wife, Viviana Briones. Brothers: Julian Briones Sr. (Delia) & Erasmo Briones Jr. (Dr. Tina Briones) His sisters: Cindy Briones & Viola Retana (Vicente) who were raised by Juan, his parents, sisters Maria Ester & all his brothers. Su hija de creanza, Lillia Briones Tijerina (Xavier) was also the love of his life. Juan was her "APA"

His 5 adult stepchildren: Enrique Galvan (Diana), Luciano Galvan, Eleazar Galvan (Debra), Teresa Boquet (Carl) and Margarita Weaver (Walter).

His spirit will continue to live in the hearts of nephews: Dude & Hector (Susi) Briones, Julian Briones Jr., Nora, Enruque & Jesse Briones, Oscar, Lorenzo, Julian, Danny (Sue) Ovalle, Luis Rios, Pete, Joey (Myna) & Richard Gonzales. Nieces who loved to do things for Juan & make him laugh: Gloria, Yolanda & Zulema Gonzales, Sylvia Briones.

Grandchildren: Vicente Ruiz (Ashley) & Laura Rodriguez (Angel). Melody Quesada, Nathaniel Ruiz, Ayden Rodriguez, Brianna & Emily Briones, Vicente Yante, Carolyn Lopez, Valerie Retana & Valente Retana.

Honorary pallbearers: Laura Rodriguez, Lorenzo Oscar, Julian, Danny Ovalle & Dude & Danny Briones and Carolyn Lopez, Francina & Kique Briones, Alexa, Ariel, Christopher & Adrian Briones. Viewing: Wednesday September 1 from 5 to 9 pm. On Thursday September 2 Prayer Service wil be at 1 pm followed by burial at 2 pm Heavenly Grace in La Feria is in charge of Services.

A visitation for Juan will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A chapel service will occur Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM. A burial will occur Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
