Frank was born September 29, 1939 in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico to his parents, Maria Ester and Narciso Hernandez. He was a 1961 graduate of Rio Hondo High School, where he played football and ran track for the mighty Bobcats. He was a golden gloves boxer, a second degree black belt, and enjoyed growing rose gardens. Among other things, he loved airplanes and early in life had aspirations of becoming an air traffic controller. Frank loved his family the most and cherished the precious moments he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
”Building Memories Valley Wide”, became a motto Frank Hernandez lived by and a legacy his company, Hernandez Homes created for thousands of friends across the valley. He was a true leader in helping new families attain their first dream home.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Olga Hernandez; three daughters, Liz (Larry) Kruse, Rachel (Sam) Reynolds, and Diana (Rob) Vela; son, Frank Xavier (Esmi) Hernandez; mother of his children, Juanita Hernandez; grandchildren, Audrey and Lexi Kruse, Hannah Reynolds, Gabi, Carmen and Robbie Vela, and Vanessa, Alonzo, and Isaiah Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, Narciso and Maria Ester Hernandez; sisters, Santa Medrano Hernandez, Amelia Cervantez, and Irene Solis; and brothers, Martin and Feliz Mora.
Memorial service will be held Monday September 11, 2017 at 7:00 pm in Heavenly Grace Chapel.
