Virginia Carter

Virginia Lee Carter, 94, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born a twin to the late Jacob and Thula Herr on June 22,1929 in Kokomo, IN. Virginia met her husband James Carter at Demit's Dairy and together they raised two children. She worked in the payroll department at Continental Steel. She worked for Westfield Washington schools. Virginia became the Executive director of the Hamilton County American Red Cross. She enjoyed shopping and friends. She spent her youth attending the Kokomo Christian Church. Later in life she attended Gray Friends Church in Westfield. Virginia is survived by her children Jeff (Terri) Carter and Marsha (Mike) Kehrer; grandchildren Brian (Angela) Carter, Dan (Michelle) Pescovitz, Abby (Jack Cruse) Russell, Sara Hiatt, Monica (Peter) Fastenau, Melanie (Zach) Simms, Morgan Kehrer; great grandchildren Prestin Hiatt, Audrey Carter, and Fallon Pescovitz; twin sister Marge Swing. In addition to her parents Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James Carter; sister Dorothy Ridenour; and grandson Timothy Carter. A visitation for Virginia will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
