Steven Walter Baldwin

He was born on November 13, 1955 to Walter and Vera (Williams) Baldwin in Logansport.

A 1974 Haworth High School graduate and 1978 Purdue University graduate majoring in Political Science, taught history and retired from Kokomo Center Township school system. In July of 1978, He married Susan Lawson, his high school sweetheart, (who preceded him in death) and they had 3 sons. Steve taught, he loved sports, especially football, basketball and racing. His love of sports not only took him to the games but took him to the scorer’s bench where he helped time and take stats for Kokomo schools as well as the Indianapolis Colts.

He is survived by his Mother; Sons, Michael (Meghan) Baldwin, Kokomo; Andrew Baldwin, Texas and Joseph (Joey) Baldwin, Lafayette; Sister-Nanette (Thomas) Knuckles, Noblesville. In-Laws-Bob (Lois) Lawson, Kokomo and Sister-in-law, Terri Lawson, Kokomo. Grandchildren- Brian, Kelly, Quinn and Norah Baldwin, Kokomo; Maddie, Arcadia and Nathan, Colorado. Nephew- Thomas W. (Cara) Knuckles, Cambridge, MA ; Timothy (Chris) Knuckles, San Diego, CA and Niece Sharon (Kent) Ellis, San Diego, CA. Uncles and Aunts-Weldy (Pam) Baldwin, Duke Baldwin, Sharon Catron, all of Kokomo and Joan Baldwin, Clovis NM as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Grandparents: Dillard and Mattie Ruth Williams and Weldy and Esther Baldwin. Uncles-Stanley Baldwin, Willard (Butch) Baldwin, Archie Bowman and Howard Williams; Aunts-Helen (Jean) Bowman, Jerri Phipps, Phyllis Baldwin and Mildred Baldwin.

Family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday September 20th, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel with a service at 6:00pm with Dan Adams and Rev. Chuck Armstrong officiating.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Transitions Hospice (8935 N Meridian St #100 Indpls 46260)
