Robert worked for NIPSCO in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He held several maintenance positions throughout his employment at NIPSCO and retired after 25 years in 1985.
Robert was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kokomo. He was also a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed shooting his guns as well as hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed ice fishing at his favorite spot in Center Lake, located in Warsaw, Indiana. Robert’s favorite hobbies included woodworking, coin collecting, and square dancing.
Robert is survived by his children, Penny Lynn (Charlie) Paxton, Gary Lee (Linda) Shipp, Robert Lane (Jan) Shipp, Toni Lynne (Dave) Fox, Terri Leigh (Ed) Hellmann, and Stacy Lorine Harper; the mother of his children Marjorie R. Moon-Shipp; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and the love of his life, Millie Decker.
There will be a visitation for Robert on Wednesday, November 8th from 11-1, with a funeral service immediately following at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo, Indiana. Robert will then be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Kokomo or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
