Rex Thomas Wright, 79, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at his home. He was born July 28, 1934, in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, to John Houk and Ida Jane (Ford) Wright. He married Patsy N.B. Wright, and she preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. He had worked at the Dirilyte Factory, American Standard Pottery, and Milbank Manufacturing. He loved woodworking, doing yard work, bluegrass music, and car shows. He was a member of the Cowboy Church Band, the VFW George Ray Goudy Post 1152, and Fairview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving companion, Sybil Parson, and two sons, Thomas Wright and Michael Wright, all of Kokomo.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Davis Wright and Leon Wright; and two sisters, Ima Relford and Edith Sharp.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at Fairview Baptist Church, 2108 E. Vaile Ave., Kokomo. Cremation will take place at a later date.
