Paul J. Cross

Paul was born January 25, 1930 to his parents Sylvester J. and Alice Cross (Weidra) in Kokomo, Indiana.

Paul married Mettie L. Pugh on December 1st, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockville, Indiana.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years, Loraine, sister's Frances Cross and Mary Morris, children David (Terri) Cross, Jim (Val) Cross, Janice Arnett, Eric Cross, and Robin (Jim) Mickler; grandchildren Kara (Jeff) Dockerty, Alicia (Josh) Cothern, Rusty (Matt) Rayburn, Stefanie Norwich, John Paul Norwich, Ashlei (Scott) Detamore, and Jimmy Cross. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Paul graduated from Northwestern High School, Class of 1950. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and serve our nation proudly from 1950 to 1954. After returning he began his career with Cuneo Press and retired 28 years later in 1978. He also owned and operated Cross construction with his brother Henry for over fifty years. Paul enjoyed camping, fishing, and vacationing in Florida during the winter. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving family. Paul's outgoing personality will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Guardian Angels Hospice for their compassionate care for Paul and a special thank you to Stacy Milligan for her extra care.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Disabled American Veterans of Howard County.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday May 4th, 2018 at 12:00pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Father Matthew Arbuckle officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10:00am until time of service. A Rosary service will begin at 11:30am. Burial will be Saturday May 5th, 2018 at 12:00pm at Rushcreek Cemetery (Tangier, Indiana).
