Michael Moses Owsley Upton

Michael “Moses” Upton, 66, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Indianapolis. Michael was born on September 6, 1951 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Samuel and Marjorie Upton. Michael graduated from Logansport High School in 1970 and then attended Vincennes University. Michael then enlisted in the United States Air Force and went on to serve in the Special Forces. Following his service to his country, Michael found employment at Walmart in Kokomo and was the Sporting Goods Manager there for the past 17 years. Michael was an avid hunter and fisherman. Other hobbies that he enjoyed included reading, playing PC games, and collecting things (mainly coins, movies, and books). He was also very inquisitive. There were several topics that sparked Michael’s interest and he would go to great lengths to research each one of them. Michael is survived by his sons, Larry J. Upton, Joshua M. Upton, and Chris Upton (fiancé, Meagan Trotti); daughter-in-law, Katurah J. Upton; mother-in-law, Rose M. Allen; granddaughters, Autumn Nikoal Bates and Angelina Allison Upton; friends, Vicki Goss and Bruce Rosa; and his canine friend, Coco. Services for Michael are pending at this time. Memorial contributions in Michael’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
