Mary "Irene" Irene Dolin

Irene was born on November 23rd, 1926 in Raleigh, NC to her parents Jess Martin Shropshire and Bertha Alice Walls.

Irene married James Edgar Dolin Sr. on July 2nd, 1948 who preceded her in death on September 14th, 2000

She is survived by her children Verna Alice (William) Horn, Dennis Haywood (Kelly Dietz Reich) Dolin, Valda Dorene (Darrell) Williams, James Edgar (Sue) Dolin Jr., David D. (Denise) Dolin, and Michael Dwayne (Gail) Dolin; brother Jerry Shropshire; sister Lucille Marion. Irene is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Irene enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and playing the piano. She attended Valley View Baptist. Her great joy was being with her family, whom will miss her the most.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, step mother Mae Shropshire, brother Carl Haywood Shropshire.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association

Services will be held on Thursday August 31st, 2017 at 1:00pm with visitation from 11:00am at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
