John Harvey Ross

John H Ross, 61, from Kokomo IN passed away at his residence in Greentown on 9/10/19. John was born January 13, 1958 in Marion IN as the firstborn to John and Nancy Ross. He grew up in Country Clubs Hills (Kokomo) with three younger brothers. John was in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle. He also enjoyed working at Camp Crossland during the summer. He graduated from Haworth High School in 1976. After graduating high school, John hopped on a bus and traveled around the southern states camping on beaches in a tent and picking fruit to fund his adventure. John attended Ivy Tech and received an Associate degree in Accounting. Photography was one of John's passions and he enrolled at Ivy Tech a couple of years ago to pursue his interest. John worked various jobs throughout his life before health issues set in. He had a keen memory and never came up short telling a good story from the past. John was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. He loved his family and pets. He was a decent and hardworking person and he was a good son, brother, father, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed. John is survived by a daughter Stephanie Ross of Kokomo; two grandchildren Abbey and Alley of Kokomo; three brothers James Ross and Joe (Donna) Ross of Kokomo and Jeff (Samantha) Ross of North Vernon; two nieces Joey Ross and Angela Mae Ross of Kokomo, and five nephews Alex Ross and Chris Ross and Corey Ross of Kokomo and Adam Ross and Zach Ross of North Vernon; also great nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held by his family at a later date. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel is handling arrangements.
