Jean Commons

Imogene "Jean" Commons, age 93, of Kokomo, Indiana passed peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on Friday, August 12, 2022. Jean was born April 21, 1929 to Carl and Bethie (Borden) Riden in Toledo, Ohio. She was the 3rd of five beloved children: Ann Commons, Bud Riden, Jean Commons, Kenny Riden, and Donna Struewing. She is survived by her sons, Dave (Rhonda) and Paul (Laresa) Commons; her daughters, Cathy Hurlock and Connie (Matt) Cookman; thirteen grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John “Jack” Commons; and her two sons, Richard and John Lindsay. Jack and Jean served the Lord in full time ministry for over 50 years. Together, they pastored nine Wesleyan churches in two states, including: Atlanta, Laotto, Blue River, Kokomo S Main, Kokomo E Mulberry, Lafayette, Pendleton, Ft Myers, and a 2nd call back to Kokomo S Main. Jean said it was “THE BEST LIFE SHE COULD IMAGINE”, adding friends and family all along the way. A public visitation for Jean will be held on Monday, August 22 at Radiant Life Ministry, 1602 E Gano St, Kokomo, from 10am-12pm. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Mike Young officiating. Jean will be laid to rest with her husband at Marion National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Jean's memory to Radiant Life Ministry.
