Wilma Ann (Cate) Smith

Wilma Ann (Cate) Smith, age 84 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home November 23, 2023, where she was surrounded by her family. She was co-owner of Woodsmith Market and Deli where she spent many years supporting community members and their animals whom she loved. She enjoyed painting, crafting, traveling, and all animals. Preceded in death by father, Willie Cate and mother, Elsie Cate. Survived by her husband of 63 years, Wayne Smith; daughter, Teresa and husband Jim Wardley; son, Randy Smith and wife Sharon Sutton; grandchildren, Halley (Tyler) McCarter, James (Megan) Wardley, Justin Wardley and Jackson Sutton; great-grandson, Alex Wardley and her much loved cat, Buddy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Young Williams Animal Center. Family will receive friends Monday at Weaver’s Chapel from 5-7 pm with the service to follow at 7 pm. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 1:45 pm at Lebanon Cemetery for a 2 pm interment. Condolences are welcome at weaverfuneralservices.com.
