William Lee “Bill” Trent Sr. age 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 1st, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda. His son Adam, daughter-in-law, Andrea, granddaughter Sophia, grandson Dustin Trent-Post, and his sister Claudia-Faye Miller. Wild Bill was a graduate of Young High School Class of 1957. He was a veteran of the United States Army and United States Army Reserves and was Honorably Discharged in 1965. He was a 50 year member of Burlington Masonic Lodge #763 and Past Patron of Burlington OES (now Knoxville #69). He was a member of the Knoxville Scottish Rite and was a Past Monarch of the Zelmar Grotto. He was a member and Deacon at Arlington Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son William Lee Trent, Jr., daughter Kelly Kay Egle, father-and-mother-in-law Mel R and Mildred Miller. Honorary Pallbearers are Alan Sherrod, Bill Glen, Bill Valentine, David Chrisenberry, David McCarley, David Wolfenberger, Don Cate, Gordon Gwathney, Greg Parkenson, Jerry Webster, Jim Scarlett, John Chubb, Mark Kline, Mike Crowder, Mike Waggoner, Rusty Manis, Tom Lindberg, and Vaughn Manis. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 11-1 pm at Berry’s Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with a short service presided by John Lovelace directly after. A graveside service will follow at 3 pm at Asbury Cemetery, 5100 Asbury Cemetery Rd. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the team at Covenant Hospice for their excellent care provided over the past few months.
