Twila Evon Sikes

Twila Evon Sikes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in Powell, Tennessee, on December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 5, 1951, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Twila's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and a deep love for her family and the world around her.

Twila is survived by her devoted daughter, Megan, and son-in-law, Jontrell Pendergrass. She leaves behind cherished memories with her grandchildren, Shalia, Javiana, and Jontrell Jr., and her great-grandchild, Jahleel. Special little ones, Ava and Jordan Jr. Her brother, Dennis Gay, and sister-in-law, Ann, also survive her, carrying forward the family legacy. She was preceded in death by her father, Odell Sikes, her mother, Epsie Gay, and her brother, Carless Gay.

Twila's heart was always drawn to the beaches of Florida, where she found joy and peace. Her love for travel took her to many places, always with a spirit of adventure and curiosity. Music, sunshine, and shopping were among her favorite pastimes, but nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family. Known for her kind heart and generous nature, Twila was a giver in every sense, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Twila Evon Sikes will be remembered for her warmth, her love of life, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 3pm at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
