Thomas Jeffery Rutherford

Thomas Jeffery (Jeff) Rutherford 59 of Knoxville departed this life and went to be with his heavenly Father November 16, 2022. He was a beautiful person with a servants heart. Jeff had a soft spot reserved for the disadvantaged and continually placed other's needs before his own. He strove daily to seek out and help those in need. Jeff's love of horses later transitioned to the love of his iron horse, his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a devoted soulmate, loving father and pappy. Jeff graduated from First Apostolic Christian School. A dedicated employee of Tennova Medical Center for the last 35 years he was most proud to serve as Plant Engineering Director. He was a member of First Apostolic Church of Maryville. He was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Amanda Jane Hurst; mother, Naomi Ruth Kesterson; brothers, Roy Eugene and Jackie Ray. Jeff is survived by loving fiance' and mate of 23 years, Katrina Benton; son, Ty (Candace) Rutherford; daughter, Amanda Jane (Benyx) Garcia; bonus son, Chaise Benton; 4 grandchildren, Jayden, Madilynn, Javier and Grey. sisters, Sue Monroe, Patricia Garrett, Janie (Mike) Loveday and Sandra (Shawn) Ammons; many nieces nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday November 20, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at First Apostolic Church of Maryville. Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Carpenter and Bishop Billy McCool officiating. Family and friends will meet Monday November 21, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 12:00 p.m. interment.
