Sandra D. Wigtion

Sandra Dale Wigtion, 75, of Nashville, TN, passed away on 4/23/2019 after a 7 1/2 year battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia. Sandra was preceded in death by her step-father “Daddy”, Walter “Scotty” McDowell and her Brother-in-Law, James Schaffer. She is survived by her beloved son, Marty Wigtion. (Maria), Granddaughter, Cassandra Wigtion, Grandson, Nicholas Wigtion (Shalee), Great-Grandson, Elijah Wigtion, all of Ridgecrest, CA, Mother, Lois McDowell, Sister, Dolores Schaffer, Nephew, Byron Schaffer. (Rachel) and Nieces, Katherine Schaffer and Sarah Schaffer, all of Knoxville, TN. Sandra was born July 30, 1943 in Columbia, TN. She loved to dance and fish. She taught her son, grandchildren, and nieces and nephew how to fish. Having worked 35 years for the Tennessee Department of Corrections, she retired in 2005 as the Food Service Manager for the Tennessee State Prison System. Visitation will be held Friday, 4/26/19 from 5-7pm at Berry Highland West; 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN. Graveside service will be held, Saturday, 4/27/19 at 3pm Woodlawn Memorial Park; 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Aphasia Association.
