Samuel E. Pearson

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Coast Guard. He received his B.A. from Bethel College and his M.A. from Peabody-Vanderbilt University. He was the basketball and football coach and Principal at Frank Hughes High School. He worked for Balfour Company and Taylor Publishing Company in East Tennessee and South West Virginia and served as Southern Sales Manager for Balfour Company. Sam was a 32nd Degree Mason and he was a longtime member of Bearden United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Jesse Pearson. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Juanita (Nita) Pearson, his children, Charlotte (Joe) Overholt and Pat Olson; grandchildren, Kathy (David) Riemann, Sam Olson, Dan (Candi) Overholt, James (Morgan) Overholt and John Overholt and 7 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Bearden United Methodist Church from 2pm - 3pm with a memorial service to follow.
