Ruby Mae (Moyers) Faulkner, age 90, passed away on June 5, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 12, 1926, to George and Maudie Moyers. She was a long time member of Norwood Methodist Church. Her smile lit up the world she lived in, and everyone that knew her loved her smile. Ruby served as a waitress for nearly 30 years at Howard Johnson/Denny’s on Merchants Rd. She had a faithful following of customers during this time and was loved by all her customers and coworkers. She loved to work banquets for church, business, and family groups. By the time Ruby was 20 years old, she had four children, having married Ross Faulkner when she was 14 and he was 19. As a couple, they also took in other family members who needed a place to live. Ruby cared for all of these family members for many years. She was also involved in school activities at Norwood Elementary School, including dancing the Charleston with a group of ladies during fun nights. Ruby worked in the Norwood school cafeteria for several years. Ruby is survived by 4 children: James Faulkner, and his wife Linda, Wanda Sue Lamb, Linda Mark, and her husband Bob, and Eddie Faulkner, and his wife Teresa. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved, and will be missed by all of her family, and many friends. A special thanks to great staff at Shannondale and to Amedisys Hospice group for the excellent & loving care provided during her final days. Ruby's life will be celebrated during a gathering of family and close friends at a later date.Arrangements under the careful direction of Berry Highland West, Knoxville, TN.
