Robert “R.E.” Edgar Rouse Jr., of Alcoa, TN passed away at home with his family by his side on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was a retired employee of Weyco Shoe Company. Robert enjoyed playing cards and going on golf outings to Myrtle Beach with friends and business associates.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Robert E. and Georgia Rouse; brother, Arliss; sisters, Wanda (Ray) Buhl, Lois (Dexter) Stallings; sons, Brian Justin, Christopher Donald; brothers-in-law, Glen, Donnie and Jack Hughett.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Helen Rouse; son, Scott (Patty) Rouse; grandson, Justin Samuel (Chloe) Rouse; four special grand dogs; sister-in-law, Helen Hughett; brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Steve (Cindy) Hughett, and many special nieces, and nephews. Also, two special Lake Tansi friends Carman Tull and Larry “Red” Combs. Special acknowledgement to Robert’s caregivers Georgia Jones and Dee Harless.
Family and friends will gather to honor the memory of Robert on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with at visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Family and friends will go in procession following the funeral service to Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920. Rev. Scott Knight to officiate the services.
