Bob Adams went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 3, 2023. Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. He greeted everyone with a smile, was quick with a joke or funny story, and enjoyed making young children laugh. As a longtime member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church, he regularly attended Paul Pickens’ Sunday School class and enthusiastically added his rich bass voice to the choir. He was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and graduated from Bearden High School in 1958, married in 1962, and shortly afterward served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Bob spent his 44-year career working as a manager of several local banks, concluding as VP Financial Center Manager with First Tennessee. He was an ardent UT Big Orange sports fan and was a ticket scanner at many UT events. He usually walked through the room singing or humming a tune and never left the house without first kissing his wife. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Maude Adams; sister, Marcella Cabage; and brothers, Don and Charlie Adams. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Deannie (née Brown); children, Rob Adams and Regina Velázquez; grandchildren, Serafina and Xavier Velázquez; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 12:30 to 2:00 at Berry Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00. Interment is on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 3:00 at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
