Richard L. Householder

Householder, Richard Lee, age 82, of South Knoxville went to be with the Lord, Sunday June 9, 2013. Mr. Householder was a graduate of Young High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He was an avid UT fan and served as an usher for UT football games for 50 years. Mr. Householder was a faithful member of Meridian Baptist Church. He retired as manager of Fulton Employee Credit Union and later worked for the Knox News Sentinel Credit Union. Mr. Householder was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid gardener, golfer and sports fan. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna Mae Householder; brother, Glenn Householder; sister, Malissa H. Davis and grandson, Daniel Fletcher. Survived by wife of 46 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Householder; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Richard and Jacque Householder, Jeffrey Lynn and Alexis Ann Householder; stepson and daughter-in-law, Stan and Susan Fletcher; stepson Chuck Fletcher; brother Doug Householder; grandchildren: Jessica Moore, Lakin, Cassandra, and Tabitha Householder, Patrick, Katie and Timothy Fletcher, Chelsea F. Peterson, Brittney Hernandez, Waymon Logan, Kate Jenkins, Larry Holden and Allison Lakin; 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday June 13, 2013 at Meridian Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm, Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15am Friday, June 14th at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway to travel in procession to Meridian Cemetery for the 11:00am graveside service.
