Pearl Scates, age 90 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully, at home Tuesday, June 4, 2024. She was a member of Solway Baptist Church. She loved cooking, fishing, quilting and always cared for others. Preceded in death by parents, Rina and Velma Haun; husband, Henry “Bud” Scates; son, Gerald Scates and sister, Margaret Hinds. Survived by daughter, Marlene (Tom) Dotson; grandchildren, Melissa (Shannon) Stone, Daniel Dotson, Derick (Andrea) Dotson, Nicole Nelson; great grandchildren, Whitney (Collin) Sharp, Kyleigh (Devon) Hunt, Caleb, Ethan, and Taylor Nelson, Danica Dotson; great great grandchild, Ledger Hunt and other relatives and friends. Family would like to thank Gentivie Hospice and her special caregiver, Becky Sweet. Family will receive friends Sunday at Weaver’s Chapel from 3-5 pm with the service to follow at 5 pm.
