Patsy Romines

Patsy was born on March 30, 1936 to Jack and Mildred (Morgan) Simpson. She grew up in South Knoxville and attended South High School (class of 1954). Following her graduation, Patsy attended the University of Tennessee for two years before leaving to work for the Federal Housing Administration. While working there, she was recruited to join the Social Security Administration where she worked for 48 years until her retirement.

Once retired, Patsy enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, spending time with her friends, many of which she has known since her childhood in South Knoxville, and being involved with her neighborhood association where she served as treasurer for several years. Patsy thrived in helping and taking care of others and spending time with her family and friends. Patsy was a devoted daughter, mother, (the best) Mimi, and friend. She was a bright light to everyone she met and she will be missed greatly by all who had the great privilege to know her, especially by her daughter and her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene (Jack) Simpson and Mildred Marie (Morgan) Simpson, her aunts Lillian Edwards and Audrey Knight, and cousins Dale Underwood, Betty Lou Edwards, and Jerry Galyon. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Romines Beidelschies (Bobby Ellison), her grandson George Cooper Beidelschies and grand daughter Emmalin (Emmy) Morgan Beidelschies, cousin Kodie Underwood (Rory and Theo), several other cousins and many close friends who were like family to her.

The family will receive friends and family to celebrate Patsy's life on Sunday, November 24,2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Berry's Funeral Home followed by a brief prayer service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Knox County Humane Society https://humanesocietytennessee.org/ (in honor of Patsy's love for all animals, but especially her cats and her beloved Skippy).
