Patricia "Pat" Jones, 75 of Knoxville Tennessee, went to be with the lord on December 28th, 2023, with her family at her side. Pat was born to the late Philip and Lillian Buchanan on August 29th, 1948, in Bakersville, North Carolina.
Pat graduated from Bowman high school, and later was a dean's list graduate of Blanton's junior college with an associate's degree in Paralegal studies. She was the owner of paralegal works and a notary public in Asheville, North Carolina, for many years until she relocated with her family to Knoxville.
Pat was a dedicated volunteer seamstress for Carolyn's Caps Ministry, sewing hats for cancer patients, and an active member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville.
Pat married Ernie Jones in September of 1967, where she began the lifelong achievement of being the most devoted and cherished wife for 56 years. Over the next few years she became a mother and was the kind of mother every child deserves. There is no way to properly describe the completeness with which she loved and taught her children.
Survived by Ernie, and their three children: Gina Crawford (Ryan) of Maryville,TN, Sarah Smith (Greg) of Blaine, TN, and Russell Jones (Heather Edwards) of Asheville, N.C.; three grandchildren: Colton Crawford, Seth Crawford, and Savannah Smith Gray (Jacob) of White Pine, TN.; brothers:Billy Buchanan of Bakersville, N.C., Bobby Buchanan of Hickory, N.C.;sister, Phyllis Bentley of Granite Falls, N.C. and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brother, Steve Buchanan of Kingsport, TN.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and a void that leaves us heartbroken. We rejoice in the knowledge of her beliefs that the promises of God are true and to be absent from her body as a believer is to be once again made whole in the presence of our Savior.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 1, 2024 between the hours of 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, with a service to follow at 5:00 PM officiated by Rev. Charlie McNutt. The family will also receive friends Wednesday, January 3, 2024 between the hours of 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with a service to follow at Webb Funeral Home, 128 Roan Road, Spruce Pine, NC 28777 with an interment to follow at Pine Branch Baptist Cemetery.
