"Nana" Nell Collier Beason, age 83, Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 21, 2020 after a brief illness. Born in Wise County, Virginia to Walter Ray and Kathleen (Boggs) Collier, Nell moved to the Powell/Knoxville area with her family as a young child.
Known to most as "Nana Nell," she had a Day Care where every child was nurtured and loved dearly. She also served as a Sunday School teacher for the nursery at Dante Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She strove to teach every child under her care about Jesus and how to love and respect one another.
Preceded in death by parents, loving husband of 53 years, Samuel F. Beason; brother and wife, James Ray (Suzanne) Collier; sister-in-law and husband, Mary (Bill) Reed; brothers-in-law, Buddy, Charles (Biggin) and Kenneth Beason.
Survived by daughter, Debbie (Jack) Wade; son, Jeff (Karla) Beason; granddaughters, Bethany (Rusty) Jenkins, Brianne (Missy) Howell, Amanda (Todd) Wagner; great-grandchildren, Lexie and Cole Jenkins, Ava Howell and Kade Wagner; siblings, Ruth Lane of New Johnsonville, TN, Phyllis Williams of Powell, TN, Martha Shannon of Knoxville, TN and John (Kathy) Collier of Chicago, Il; Sisters-in-law, Glady (Bobby) Hankins of Powell, TN, Shirley Clowers of Knoxville, TN and Martha Beason of Heiskell, TN and brother-in-law Dennis (Carolyn) Beason of Norris, TN; as well as a large extended family and a host of friends.
Family will meet at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 Simpson Road, Knoxville for graveside services, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 1:00pm with Rev. Lee Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Dante Baptist Church Building Fund, 314 Brown Road, Knoxville, TN 37918.
