Monnie Lakin

Monnie Lakin, age 86, of Powell, TN, her faith was made sight on Monday, November 18, 2024. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Andersonville. Monnie was a retired pre-school Teacher at St. Mary’s Hospital, and previously was employed with Knoxville Police Department in Traffic.

Preceded in death by parents; father, Elisha A. Miley and Margaret Jane (Maggie) Miley; brothers, Myrle, Chris, Ben, Albert and James Riddley, William O. (Bill) Miley; sisters, Mary Weaver and Marie Severs.

Survived by husband of 71 years, Chester Lakin; sons, Steve Lakin and wife Terri of Powell and Jack Lakin of Knoxville; grandchildren, Nicholas Lakin, Jordan Lakin (Stephanie), Jonathan Lakin (Brooke), Jessica Michaels (Jeff); great grandchildren, Elijah Lakin, Luke Lakin, Adeline Lakin, Noah Lakin, Allie Lakin, Isaiah Michaels, Seth Michaels, Ezra Michaels; brother, Otis R. Miley of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Staff of UT Hospice for their excellent care.
