Molly LeeAnn Davis, 38, was born on May 27th, 1979 in Knoxville, TN and passed away surrounded by her family on May 24th, 2018 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her brother Zachary, who died in 2007 at the age of 17. Also preceding Molly are her maternal grandparents Porter and Mary Bentley Chapman of Rogersville, TN; and her paternal grandfather, Carl “Papa” Davis of Knoxville, TN.
Molly is survived by her parents, David and Alice Chapman Davis and paternal grandmother, Gladys Davis all of Knoxville, TN; special cousin Amy Davis of Bristol, TN, and numerous other family members and lifelong friends. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church.
Molly graduated from Central High School in 1997, after which she earned an Associate’s Degree in Film and Video from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. She lived in Minnesota for a short time before returning to Knoxville, where she made her home.
She worked at Jewelry TV for several years and then as Video Design Specialist at Ruby Tuesday Headquarters for eight years. Afterwards, she worked in video, media, and graphic design as a Marketing Director for Prestige Cleaners who sponsors HonorAir Knoxville. She created a souvenir video for the veterans’ making the trips to the Washington D.C. War Memorial. Molly was also an original co-founder of Knoxville’s longest running film festival, which began as Knoxville 24 Hour Film Festival and is now Scruffy City Film and Music Fest. In 2013, Molly’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own company, Saucy’s Catering, which she ran successfully until her death.
Molly was a passionate lover of animals her entire life and worked with several nonprofits to foster and rescue dozens of dogs over many years. To honor this legacy, the family requests donations be made to Big Fluffy Dog Rescue in lieu of flowers.
Services and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 from 4pm to 6pm at the Marble Pavilion in Lakeshore Park 6410 S. Northshore Dr. , Knoxville, TN 37919. Condolences may offered at www.berrylynnhurst.com.
