Slagle, Michael Wayne- age 53, went to be with our Lord, January 25, 2013. He was a 27 year veteran with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a member of Corryton Masonic Lodge #321 F. & A.M. and FOP Lodge #36. Mike was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Roger Lynch; grandparents, Frank and Lura Slagle; Guy Tom and Louise Forster. He leaves to celebrate his life, loving wife and best friend, Laura; his favorite little buddy, “Oscar Lee”; his father and mother, Jake and Judy Slagle; sister and brother-in-law, Janeene and Mike Smith; daughters, Kacye Baker and Whitney Gosnell; son, Chad Slagle; 6 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Melinda Lynch and fiancé Sam Palmer; adopted daughter, Kirsten Butler; special family, Mike and Pat Higgs and Rosemary Carroll. Masonic services will be held by Corryton Masonic Lodge in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home by Mike Lett at 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Funeral services will follow after the Masonic service with Rev. Denny Ford officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 30, 2013 and proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for a 1:00 pm graveside service. The family will receive friends from 4:30-7:00 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Pallbearers will be Mike Higgs, Mark Higgs, Don Boshears, Dennis Murray, Adam Bowman and Jessie Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are Benny Dyer, Rodney King, Don Medley, Sam Palmer and Jeff Ford.
